Eight Wildcats competed in last years grueling 25th edition of the Dakar. Of the 400 vehicles that started the race, only 163 reached Dakar, 5 were Wildcats and all were in the top forty places.
Following the success of last years race, the race organisors (the ASO) chose the Wildcat to be the official 2005 Volant Dakar race vehicle.
The 26th edition of the Dakar will see 12 Bowler Wildcats at the startline in Barcelona. The 12 Wildcats will be followed by 3 dedicated support vehicles and a rapid response truck.
